If you are interested in helping us gather new tunes, you could record a few of your own favorite tunes and send them in to be edited. The format is a slow version for learning and an up to tempo version to see what the tune actually sounds like. You can send recorded video and audio to email@example.com
One branch off of the Young Tradition Vermont foundation Is Fiddleheads. At Fiddleheads, a different instructor comes in once a month and teaches one or two new tunes to all the kids who come. Fiddleheads is a great place for newer fiddle players to begin learning tunes by ear and have the wonderful opportunity to work with the fantastic musicians who Mark Sustic brings in each month. If you live in Vermont and are interested in Fiddleheads, you can visit the Young Tradition Vermont website at youngtraditionvermont.org. More information about Fiddleheads is in the Programs section of the site.
From the 26th to the 28th of December the Young Tradition Vermont Touring Group will be having a three day retreat to get ready for their tour of New York and New Jersey. All of the members are excited to have the opportunity to tour with YTV once again. This year there were many new additions to the group, so the veteran members are looking forward to the retreat because it is the only time before the actual tour that the members have a chance to interact. So far, it’s looking like a good year for the Touting Group. The itinerary is yet to be finalized, but be on the lookout for tour dates!
